Art Classes for Children 6-12

In a non-judgmental environment, with soft nature music, children learn to draw crystals, mandala’s and organic shapes, and make forms out of clay.
The facilitator Carla Van Walsum Ph.D c LSHC makes use of specific positive affirmations accompanying certain exercises, which are a helpful tool in changing negative thinking patterns, releasing stress, anxieties, fears,
hyperactivity and other issues.
The results develop awareness of free forms, shapes and color and often improve focus and a relaxed attitude.
Mirror-exercises and working with both hands contribute to a better balance between the right and left brained parts.
These classes combine European art techniques and organic shapes from India. They stimulate the integration of the cognitive, social and emotional intelligence.
Research (Shaw, Xiaodan, Rauschner, California) showed 10-34% cognitive improvement after a period of combined, intuitive art.
