With all the self help actions no one asks: WHO AM I? This is about creating and maintaining a relationship with yourself. Start with a list of all your positive qualities that have nothing to do with making money. Every day you select at least three of those qualities to apply on behalf of yourself, without hurting anyone in the process. This will help you distinguish between your IMAGE(to please or to impress others) and your IDENTITY (to be the real person and to enhance your growth). Not everyone needs to love you, but you have to earn peoples' RESPECT.
Increased self awareness will help you professionally too!!!
Cheers. HK.
The CLS mission statements, like this post, are moving and potentially theraputic. Your distinction between projecting IMAGE and growing IDENTITY is insightful. I observed to a few folks on this blog my sense that CLS is an organization dedicated to networking for people who work in the natural medicine, healing and health fields. There are elements of self help, promotion and marketing in the mix . Of course "networking" is never bad. Still I posed a question concerning CLS's raison d etre:
"Don't you think there is an inherent tension between" business success", which involves competitive monetary, enlightened self interest and the more altruistic goals of living in peaceful harmony and wholesome relationship with yourself and others?"
So far nobody has acknowledged this polarity. Unless I misread your comment,
"Not everyone needs to love you, but you have to earn peoples' RESPECT. Increased self awareness will help you professionally too!!!", your approach strives to integrate self interest and mutual growth.
