Hi All,

This is a wonderful organization that is doing great work up and down the east coast of Florida--especially with the Indian River Lagoon. They are independent so funds are not tied to biased sources. Check out the link to get more info.

Yes indeed. In fact I am discussing with the director Jim Egan regarding reforesting a spoil island here in the Banana River.

Anybody else like to be part of this project let me know. I also have a project soon on doing a proper archaeological survey on the last remaining native site in Cape Canaveral. *

Does anybody like to get dirty with archeology? :-)

(*) As you may have guessed it, I was a project management type in my last life.
Hello Ray. Planning to reforest a spoil island? Count me in. If you haven't yet visited Samsons Island (Satellite Beach) I would highly recommend checking it out. I believe this was a restoration project from several decades back. We take a kayak excursion to Samsons every couple of months, always worth the effort to get there.

At any rate, I'd be interested in hearing from you regarding your thoughts & plan on the spoil island idea.

Regards!

Dan,

I am working on getting some Mangrove saplings and educating ourselves on
what we are trying to do. So we are networking with marine biologists. I spoke to Chris at MRC and he had some good ideas.

I will post more when I get more. Will you be going to the Clean Ocean Act
celebration tonight in Cocoa Beach? Do you have your own kayak?
Ray,

No, I didn't make the Cocoa Beach celebration. We do own 2 kayaks.

Dan, did you get my invite for our luncheon this Saturday?

I want to talk about this project, planting mangroves.
Do you know Amy Tidd? I was thinking of going to this.

We plan on going to this. Thanks for the info.!
I just posted Amy's flyer on this. I may come down to Palm Bay to go
to this. Interested in seeing if anybody else goes.
We went to Amy's gathering last night. Great turn out. She is very genuine. I'm impressed!
Great! How did it go? Did you see any of our CLP friends there?
