I see there is difference to leaving a comment and another thing altogether to leaving a message.

I guess what I was trying to say in my message is that it is important to me to do something big while doing small
things to help the environment. Maybe our problems are
too overwhelming. At a teen in the 70's I wanted to change the world.

Does it seem like to big an issue to grasp for a lot of people you think?

Hi I am Shanti...
I have been sensitive to our Mother Earth since the 70's when I was a kid. I knew that we needed to tread lightly.. And cried whenever I saw the Native American on TV crying about the pollution. I was into recycling clothing by altering them and wearing them to school the next day :) .. My brothers old shirts, etc...

When I was in the late twentiesI lived on a Artist Retreat in Tucson where we were off the grid.. We had propane and solar, and were about 200 feet from a national desert, that was not for public use.. It was a beautiful and healing way to live!

I have also written some books on Dolphins and the mystical connections we have with them. They are here to heal us and we are here to heal the earth! Shari Carter and I developed Dolphin Trilogy Reiki that is used all over the world as the manual is in many different languages.. It is humbling, awesome and awe inspiring to be part of that energy! :)

I love the beach and all the beautiful natural "resources" our Mother gives us. I am a Buddhist and pray daily for all sentient beings, as well as meditate for the Earth and healing.

I also do recycle, eat organic, vegeterian, buy previoulsy owned as much as possible, use recycled materials in my Jewely and art as much as I can, and drive as little as possible. And I know so many other artist are doing the Upcycle thing, just check out Etsy!!! I have mostly 1960's, 70's furniture and what other pieces I have I gotten off Craigslist. I really believe in what I did as a kid, take someone elses "used stuff" and recreating it to make it my own! :)

I also feel thru one mind, one love commitment we can change the world and heal our Mother who so desperately needs it :)

Ok Enuff!

Welcome new members, thanks for joining.

To get this discussions off to a good start I think it wise to introduce ourselves. When we share our feelings
and thoughts about our relationship to our home, this planet called the Earth, we learn what we have in common with one another.

Myself. I enjoy getting outdoors and going kayaking or climbing to the top of an ancient Indian mound. In my historical research I have developed a deep appreciation
for the ancient Indians. They lived in this area for over 6000 years, never changing the land and living in harmony with nature.

I read a book in the seventies entitled "The Greening of America" which moved me. So much optimism at that
time which led to environmental efforts of the 1980's.

Consciously, a lot of the time I feel a sense
of duty to reduce my carbon footprint and actively promote recycling and free-cycling activities. I think
it important that we give back to the Earth in deed just as we might give back to the divine. Maybe the Earth is divine. Why not, the divine is Omnipresent anyway.

"Ashes to ashes, dust to dust" type thing. Our bodily connect is closer to the Earth as we are made of the
same materials.

Oh well I'm starting to ramble here, your turn. :-)

Presently I am at a QI Gong Revolution Event and we are all (1,700 of us) sending Chi to the World, and listening to lectures on builiding our Chi to change ourselves.
I walked to and from the Convention Center instead of driving. And will do it tommorow, as well as Tuesday.
And we are walking to dinner and the store. That's what I did today to go more green :)
