Dear group,
For some time I have had a vision to create a holistic environment for the developmentally challenged population. It is a multi-faceted project, incorporating organic farming, green building and the use of "intuitive" and alternative counselors and practitioners.
Recently I was talking with a coach about my idea and she suggested I "put it out there" and see what kind of feedback I get....does anyone think this a viable/doable endeavor? Maybe someone knows of a similar thing already in existence?

Talc Use Linked to Increased Risk for Ovarian Cancer

Regular use of talc in the genital area was significantly associated with an increased risk for ovarian cancer in a new analysis reported in Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers and Prevention. The researchers say that genital use of talc should be avoided.
This is not a new finding — the association between genital talc use and an increased risk for ovarian cancer has been reported previously, and was confirmed in a meta-analysis of 16 studies.
The latest findings come from an analysis of data from 2 separate study populations. Researchers obtained records for 1231 epithelial ovarian cancer cases and 1244 controls from the New England Case Control study, and on 210 cases and 600 controls from the prospective Nurses' Health Study
An alternative to talc is cornstarch powder, which has not been shown to increase ovarian cancer risk.

I run a seniors fitness program that I have developed, teaching mobility, flexibility and balance, in New Jersey through a few centers. (www.chiforliving.com). From working with the groups, I have found a need to bring more information to them, in an easy to understand manner.

My team is currently constructing a web project dealing with whole person fitness named MaturityMatters

The goal is to have articles on 5 majors areas of personal and family life geared to the 60 and over population, with physical fitness as one of them.

What I am hoping for at this point are a few articles (or video clips) dealing with fitness. Such as: Weight and weight free exercise tips, how to choose the right fitness program, warm-up and cool-down tips, nutrition tips and perhaps some menu planning for weight loss.

Other suggestions or submissions on alternative areas of whole person fitness geared to the older adult are also welcome.

All articles will credit the authors. The intent is provide quality, relevant and useful information to the target audience to help keep them healthy with independent and vital lifestyles.

Please contact me with questions on the project, or to find out how you can get involved if you share my passion for aiding older adults in living a better life.

Help Your Body Get Rid of Mercury w/ Cilantro
A researcher named Dr. Yoshiaki Omura discovered that some patients excreted more toxic metals after consuming a Chinese soup containing cilantro.
Cilantro is the leafy part of a common herb whose seed, coriander, is a familiar culinary spice. In China, cilantro is called Chinese parsley, and it is used in cooking. It is a member of the carrot family and has a distinct taste that most people either love or hate.
Personally I love it and since I eat a fair amount of fish; I buy cilantro and add it regularly to my salads.
I also make a cilantro pesto to put on fish, meat, veggies or just a good piece of crusty bread.

Here’s a recipe:
In a blender or food processor, put
One head of cilantro – stems & leaves – roughly chopped
2 medium cloves of garlic - smashed
1/2 oz of walnuts or pine nuts (yes, omega 3 fatty acids)
1/4 tsp. –sea salt
~1/2 cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Hit chop on the blender...and slowly add additional oil from top of blender until all ingredients are emulsified into a paste.
Take out of the blender and Enjoy!!

For autism, I'd recommend some cranial-sacral work, an evaluation of the child's Vitamin D and DHA status and testing for IgE allergies & IgG food tolerances.
