I have had a calling, since at least grade school, to practice "longevity" and study health and what makes humans healthy. This later led to my study of yoga, tai chi, natural food cooking, macrobiotics and Oriental medicine.
I took that interest further and returned to school to study acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. My "calling" has become the desire and ability to share my knowledge with others who have health issures, or just want to have more energy and vitality.
What is your secret to healthy living?
My secret to healthy living is to do whatever I can to stay in a positive state of mind. I prefer"exctied" as a state of mind, but when that is not happening, I go for "positive" and use tools to bring my mental energies up. It helps to take care of the physical basics (nutrients, sleep, exercise, getting out of pain) to stay in that place. I make sure that even if I am not always getting the nutrients through my diet that I need, I at least supplement with whole food supplements to get the basics of anti-oxidents, trace minerals, essential fatty acids and so on. I also take a variety of tonic herbs on a daily basis, and avoid toxic chemicals (environmental and pharmaceutical) as much as possible.
What would you like to say?
I am so happy to have found Melbourne, Fl. I never really felt settled and at home until I had been in Melbourne for a couple of years. I love the climate, the size ot the population, the ease of driving (compared to many other places), I love driving over the causeway to work and seeing the sparkel of the river. Sure, this area is lacking in mountains and some cultural activities, but that is what travel is for. When I do travel, I come back appreciating Melbourne even more.
I am partenered with a wonderful man for the last 6 years. We both have 5 adult children between us, with only one at home, and one grandchild. My two daughters are successfully on their own.
Over the years I have been great intrests that keep me excited about life, currently these interests include the continued study of the human body and how we can be healthy and overcome illness, and sharing that info through my work as an Acupuncture Physician; all kinds of dancing, but especially contra dancing (held twice a month in this area), and Zumba; enjoying the beauty of the Indian River via boat, swimming in the ocean, traveling...
