Sustainable Engineering is part of the creative process of utilizing science and technology, making use of energy and resources at a rate, which does not compromise the integrity of the natural environment, or the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. This is the time where people embrace sustainable development ideals such as to strive to achieve zero landfill status, minimize storm water discharge and pollutant loadings into protected waters of the state, reduce energy…

My mom always told me that sugar would rot my teeth. But after a recent scolding by my dentist for brushing too hard (how else am I supposed to get all the sugar off?), I was inspired to look a little deeper into what’s really harmful to my teeth—and I learned that there’s a lot more than sugar to watch out for. From foods that encourage tooth decay to habits that wear away gums, there’s more to maintaining our smile than a simple brush and floss.

The biggest hurdle to your weight-loss efforts isn't the industrial-strength calorie bombs lurking in supermarkets and restaurants the country over, but rather, the flood of lackluster packaged and prepared foods masquerading as healthy eats. With the food industry spending $30 billion a year to peddle their most dubious products, it's no wonder we've confused some of the most calorie-riddled, fat-laden products in America for truly nutritious food. Read on to discover a new, smarter game…

I am so blessed to have
Victoria Rose Martin, artist extraordinaire, as one of my good friends and angels. She happily created the logo for my store. I knew I needed to work on branding for marketing purposes. It wasn't until my 19th year of
The Crystal Garden that I established a very definitive logo and focused on branding.

Coffee's ability to forestall mental decline has been the subject of some very interesting research lately. First, a study from France showed that women who drank three or more cups of coffee daily were 30 percent less likely to have memory problems at age 65 than women who drank a single cup of coffee or less.
The study, published in the August 7, 2007, issue of Neurology, found that the benefit of drinking coffee increased with age: memory decline among women over 80 who drank…

Hello, thanks for taking a look at the activities I plan. I find these events turn out to be special with people actually advancing their careers as well as meeting like minded people. Everyone needs to find their passion with their craft or work and when you can do that with others then that is a blessing indeed.
I've organized these luncheons since 2001 so we are pretty well established and have a good core interest from the community. I think these luncheons are a good match for…
