When you're working alone as a solopreneur it's your job to keep yourself feeling upbeat and positive. Having your own business is no easy feat. It's going to bring up all your issues. Why? It's because your business is a reflection of you. And at times, things happen that will affect your mood and bring you down. That's why you need to find a support network of like-minded business women and friends to encourage you.
Did you know that you're influenced by the 5 people that you're the closest to? Who are you socializing with? Who do you go to dinner with? Who do you chat on the phone with? Take a good look. Are these the people you want to be like?
If your friends aren't excited about your ideas, then I suggest that you find yourself some new ones. As you change and grow, so will your friends. I love this quote by Vernon Howard "You must dare to disassociate yourself from those who would delay your journey."
You need to have friends that inspire, motivate and believe in you. It's great to have relationships with people that are more successful than you so you can learn from them.
If your family members aren’t supporting your dreams and visions for your business and your life, then I recommend telling them as little as possible. They might tell you to slow down. Or to go get a job. It’ll be easier for you. They mean well. But this kind of thinking will hold you back.
On your journey to success, you will have to realign some of your relationships. Remember to set high standards. Explore new local groups, new restaurants, clubs and charitable organizations with the intention that you will meet people of power and success that you can build relationships with.
You can do it!
