How would you get parents to become more involved in their children's learning?

Well my favorite teacher and mentor is Dr. Michael Popkins. He got me very enrolled with his "Active Parenting" study groups. I eventually became a facilitator.  One thing he would share is...it's not the cars or houses we drive that matter when we die...its our legacy which is our children.  This statement would always hit my soul! They are our footprint!  Also I found that in his process I learned the more I get at their level (he explains many ways like learning) this affects their behavior.  So if we want kids to have better behavior the more we get at their level...the better! I also love doing team building activities that get the entire family connect at the heart, like the "angel walk"! I find parents...then remember how important and what their roles is with their children.   Hope this helps...my 2 cents! I could go on and on about kids.  I love them so much and many parents today do not know how to parent, let alone get involved in their education! They let their kids eat crap, play video games and don't teach vital life skills - finances, conflict resolution, relationships and more. I think we should give tax credits for parents to take coursed like "Active Parenting". Best of luck on your project.
