The Road to Freedom for Solopreneurs

I went outside on my screened in back patio yesterday and found a very large curly tail lizard scampering around trying to find it's way out though the screen. I opened the door to the outside which was right near him and with a broom tried to give him a nudge in the right direction. He refused to take my guidance. Instead, he decided to climb up the screen and stay very still. Again, I tried to give him a few nudges with the broom to lead him out to freedom. Unfortunately, he wouldn't move. Not even an inch.

His road to freedom was just a few feet away. He just couldn't see it. So he remained stuck.

How often does this happen to solopreneurs? Many business owners are just a few steps away to taking their businesses to the next level but they have a few blind spots that they can't see on their own. They just can't figure out why they're stuck and what action steps they need to take in order to get more sales, attract more clients and make more money.

What's the solution?

It's to hire a mentor. Someone that can see your blind spots. Someone that can guide you. Someone that will support you and hold you accountable. Someone that will hold your vision, believe in you and your dreams.

Ask any very successful solopreneur. They'll tell you that they will not be without a coach or a mentor. Recently I listened to Ali Brown interview with Jack Canfield, co-creator of The Chicken Soup to the Soul series. He was asked the question whether he still has mentors even though he's a multi-millionaire. And without hesitation he answered "absolutely." In fact, he said that he has a life coach, an exercise coach, and a nutrition coach. He also said that at one time he had a "Joy Coach."
